SUMMARY:Erntfescht / Harvest Home
DESCRIPTION:The Harvest Home is a long-standing Germanic tradition of 
 celebrating the harvest. At this time, community and families would he
 lp to ensure that their neighbors and relatives would have food to pre
 pare for the coming winter. Families would exchange different crops fr
 om farms and gardens. The tradition was observed by different tribes a
 nd regions at different times, but the tradition continued through the
  Christian era and is very much alive, particularly in Eastern Pennsyl
 vania, even today.\n\nOn this day, you are invited to bring a bit of a
 nything you have grown in your garden or farm. These items will be pre
 sented as offerings to the gods and goddesses. Offerings may be presen
 ted to any Teutonic deity, but the honored deities will be Frey, Freya
 , Thor (Dunner), Sif (Siwwa), and Idunn. Offerings will also be presen
 ted to wights who help to keep the land bountiful and from whom we dra
 w our most immediate connections to a wider spirituality. You are invi
 ted to swap food items from gardens, also. If you do not have a garden
 , any items may be offered.\n\nAs part of a larger community outreach,
  you are also invited -- if able -- to bring some canned goods that we
  will donate to the Greater Berks Food Bank.\n\nEstimated schedule:\n\

 yone is invited to bring a potluck item. Electricity and at least one 
 grill will be available.\n\nNeeds:\nPrimary dishes\nSide dishes\nCold 
 cuts\nBeverages (Diet, Regular, Water, Tea)\nPaper plates/napkins\nUte
 nsils\nCups\nAnything else that folks would like\n\nKeep in mind that 
 this is a public park, so we are not allowed to have alcohol or pets p
